Cape Foul WindNamed by Captain Cook on his first visit, huge rollers from the Tasman Sea crash into this West Coast headland. Protected by the huge rock, a seal colony is shown at the bottom of the picture. Terns are roosting precariously on the rock's summit. | ||
Champagne Pool, WaiotapuHydro-thermal formations at the edge of a blue, bubbling hot pool, which effervesces even more when a handful of sand is tossed in. Eventually it drains across the colourful Artist's Palette to the Bridal Veil Falls. |
